Art 1, 2, and 3
"The main purpose of art education in childhood is to provide an effective outlet for feelings. A child's life is so full of restrictions, regulations, frustrations, and fears that outlets of release become essential. Art is one of the best avenues of release. It gives expression to fury, shape to joy, and relief to tension."
Based on a quote from Haim Ginott
SKETCHBOOK ASSIGMENT
The best way to get better at art is to PRACTICE! Besides regular art projects that we do in class, students are required to complete one (1) sketch in their sketchbook each week. These sketches are due each Monday and account for half of their grade each week. If your child's grade is suffering, chances are they are behind on their sketchbook. These sketches can be made up at any time during the term. On most weeks, students are also given time during class on Fridays to work on their sketchbooks. If students are present on Friday, but do not take advantage of the time to work on their sketchbook, and do not turn it in on Monday, they will receive a "0" for their sketchbook assignment for that week. If you have any questions concerning this or any other assignment, please feel free to contact me.
